On November 21, 2025, students from the Jinshan Peasant Painting College Students' Intangible Cultural Heritage Workshop entered Dongfeng Community in Zhangyan Town. Using wall paintings as a medium, they integrated the theme of respecting and caring for the elderly into the community's public space. This event has specially invited Professor Dai Hongmei, the vice president of Zhongqiao University and the Party branch secretary of the School of Art, and Professor Zhu Xi, the chief mentor of the Intangible Cultural Heritage Master Studio, to serve as the overall planning and guidance. It aims to convey care through artistic creation and create a warm and friendly community atmosphere.
In the early stage of the Jinshan Peasant Painting College Students' Intangible Cultural Heritage Workshop, the design of the wall was modified and the plan was finalized. The picture, with warm tones as its base, ingeniously combines the rural beauty with the culture of respecting the elderly, becoming a new landmark that conveys positive energy of filial piety and respect for the elderly.

On the day of the event, with the help of community workers, the students began to divide the work and collaborate. The wall paintings adopt a combination of realistic and freehand techniques. On the basis of retaining the original texture of the wall, they depict a pastoral picture with distinct layers.

This "talking" cultural wall not only beautifies the village's appearance but also serves as a vivid textbook for promoting traditional virtues. The community residents stood side by side with the workshop members, the colorful paints shining in the sunlight. This art co-creation that transcends age is unfolding in its most vivid form.

This wall painting activity has provided students with a practical platform to practice traditional virtues. In the future, students will take their works as a starting point, start from the things around them, and carry forward the fine traditional Chinese virtue of respecting and caring for the elderly through practical actions. They will actively create a good social atmosphere of respecting, caring for, loving and helping the elderly, and let the positive energy of filial piety and respect for the elderly continue to spread both inside and outside the campus. With the responsibility of youth, they will inject fresh impetus into promoting civilized trends.
